0008 [ASMR] Tapping a plastic bottle with lapel microphone inside

0008 [ASMR] Tapping a plastic bottle with lapel microphone inside Trying something new out with a plastic jar and a microphone inside! This is the complement to the YouTube video published on the 22nd of February 2018. https://youtu.be/7wYXp7lqvW8 I have a few of these plastic chemical safe jars from when I needed to send of oil samples and make sure that they won’t react or spill.  They have a little sealing "thing" that you can poke a wire through and just about make it air tight.  The lapel microphone, which is nothing special just a really cheap one which I ordered of Amazon, was places loose inside the jar. Tapping is always a pleaser in the ASMR world even better with something metal. I didn't fancy using a screwdriver again so I gathered a few circuit board stand-offs that screw in to each other to make a long tapping stick! So please enjoy and get all your ASMR kicks from this ten minute, no talking, tapping tingle inducing video! If

0006 [ASMR] The Coffee bean shuffle

0006 [ASMR] The Coffee bean shuffle Finally managed to make a better coffee bean video to replace the one I'm not happy with, enjoy this ten minute version of shuffling coffee beans! This is the complement to the YouTube video published on the 8th of February 2019. https://youtu.be/7FZE7J5lcWk I hope you will agree that its much better than by other coffee bean video :) Got to love coffee beans, not only did they keep me up late at night though the power of caffeine to a time when there is not a lot of noise critical for a good ASMR recording but also they make awesome sounds when they are shuffled! In this video I didn't drop the beans on the microphone but rather tried to keep them away and focus on the sounds of the beans on each other. I'm really pleased with how this video turned out, the sound is spot on also the footage is nice and sharp focused on the microphone plus being well lit too (good old Ikea bendy lamp to thank for that one). If yo

0005 [ASMR] Brushing microphone with a dust brush

0005 [ASMR] Brushing microphone with a dust brush Welcome to the most watched videos so far! Brushing, yet another staple of the ASMR world. While cleaning my camera with the very brush in the video it jumped out to me that I should make a video brushing the microphone. This is the complement to the YouTube video published on the 1st of February 2019 https://youtu.be/GG38rHW60fU I'm happy with this one, best so far. While my camera might not be the top of the range I think with the practice of the other videos I managed to get this one spot on! Oh my, did this one get the views! According to YouTube analytics its the most viewed video I have made so far! Don't you worry I have another brush video which I have recorded just needs editing and uploading - look out for that one in the future. While cleaning the dust out of my camera in a never ending battle with the small floating bits of stuff which appear for thin air I found this brush in my camera draw. I ha

0003 [ASMR] Metal screwdriver tapping microphone

0003 [ASMR] Metal screwdriver tapping microphone Welcome to one to the most watched videos so far! Tapping is a really good trigger for ASMR so I thought I would give it a try myself. This is the complement to the YouTube video published on the 18th of January 2019 https://youtu.be/L4eZiKhbXpM This one really worked I will 100% be doing more of them in the future with different microphones and tapping objects. I was not too happy with the footage with this one but that was more than made up for by the audio, this one really did work! Metal screwdrivers + metal microphone = ASMR! Looking back at my YouTube analytics this video has the most comments and likes so far so it goes without saying I better start making some more of them in this style! I have other ideas to try that follow on from this theme of metal tapping on metal like small metal picks or tweeters for example, popped those on the to-do list! If you like the content that I'm making, please do

0004 [ASMR] Coffee beans falling on a microphone

0004  [ASMR] Coffee beans falling on a microphone Time for another video! Shorter than normal but experimenting with different ASMR sources! This is the complement to the YouTube video published on the 24th of January 2019 https://youtu.be/nUa9zY49XW4 This video is a little bit shorter than some of my other videos, two things behind this; firstly a loud car revving its engine madly outside which was picked up and secondly I didn't have loads of time so didn't re-shoot. I have seen a fair few other asmrtist on YouTube use coffee beans in their videos, so naturally I thought I would try a proof of concept to see if I can make it work in my style of video! As I mentioned before it did not turn out like how I wanted it to because some external factors which limited me but thought best not to waste the footage that I managed to get.  I tried to make use of the large microphone body at a target with the coffee beans dropping on it as well as the cage where t

0002 [ASMR] Plastic film tape across the microphone - No Talking - 10 minutes

Image
0002 [ASMR] Plastic film tape across the microphone  Hello another video is live. Get you ASMR needs form this plastic film tape on a microphone! This is the complement to the YouTube video published on the 13th of January 2019 https://youtu.be/eIe90AC5QWo I really like the effect the plastic made against this microphone, I think I'll have to try this out on some other microphones! I had a bit of safety tape laying around (I still have no idea why I have it and such a random length too, only three meters) which I found while tidying up. The crunchy, shuffling and clicking sounds it make while I scrunched it up ready for the bin gave me the inspiration to make this video. Again with this microphone it take a bit more effort in post possessing as the camera and the microphone are recording separately. Once the audio is in Audacity and has been clipped down to length to remove the sound of me pressing record on the camera it can then be exported in to

0001 [ASMR] Pealing masking tape off a microphone - No Talking - 10 minutes

Image
0001 [ASMR] Pealing masking tape off a microphone  Welcome to the very first ASMR video published! This is the complement to the YouTube video published on the 11th of January 2019 https://youtu.be/N1cF-MYzqhs Really simple sticky masking tape pealing of a microphone for ten minutes. Being the first attempt at an ASMR video its not the best one out there but I was happy at the time :) There is something about the sound of sticky masking tape being pulled of the ridged metal wire cage of the microphone. This video was a post production intensive process as the microphone is not directly connected to the camera. The set up consisted of my video camera recording the footage with the sound turned off and microphone which is a USB device connected to my computer using Audacity to record it. Once finished I took both of them in to Premiere Pro, aligned the sound with the video which take a bit of skill to match up. After a few tweaks on the colour of the vid
